At the end of 2015, best friends Richard Mier (guitar) and David Topete (bass) looked at each other during a Walk the Moon concert and said “We can do this”. After weeks of jamming in their gear stuffed rooms, they teamed with drummer Max Huss, who jumped over from David’s brothers band, and found singer/songwriter Pat McCloskey through a local Craigslist’s ad (I know right?). Hailing from Chicago with a pretty falsetto and stories of too many one night stands, Pat brought the Panic-at-the-Disco-esque pop dynamic the band needed to project their neo-80s rock, into the modern age. On September 1st 2016, the band was officially formed. After a wild 2017 featuring Saturday night shows at Great American Music Hall, Rickshaw Stop, Bottom of the Hill, and Brick and Mortar Music Hall, along with a Pacific Northwest Tour which included shows in Seattle, Portland and more, First in Flight is ready to take on 2018. Their new single “Syringe” was released on November 10th, 2017 and met with high praise, and their new EP will drop early 2018.
